None of these theories offers a perfect explanation of how American government works. In this essay you are to present your theory of American government. You may focus on one of these theories or use some combination of these theories or devise a completely new theory. Your goal in the essay is to offer a theory that best explains the operation of the political system in the United States. In essence. make an argument that your theory is the best explanation of how the system works.

After defining your theory you should present evidence illustrating the validity of your theory. In arguing for your theory you should use examples from the course to show the accuracy of your theory.
