CMST155-Intercultural Communication

Objective
Plan a trip to a foreign country you have not yet visited. Research and learn several details about that country’s culture, customs, and history
Purpose
Visiting another country will give you the opportunity to learn about another culture and its people. Your goal should be to prepare a trip that will provide you with a rich experience in regard to the intercultural interactions and experiences you will have on this trip.
Content
Your paper must include researched information about several important cultural artifacts of the country you would like to visit. You will need to research and include the cultural/historical significance of each. Your assignment must include any 3 of the following:
1.Cultural event—A celebration, parade, sporting event, holiday event, etc. that holds cultural significance in the country you would like to visit.
2.Ceremony—A social, religious, traditional, etc. ceremony significant to the country you would like to visit.
3.Dining experience—A dining experience at a well-known restaurant or food festival that holds cultural significance in the country you would like to visit.
4.Historical site—A site that has significant historical and cultural value to the country you would like to visit.
5.Museum—A museum that will offer you the opportunity to learn more about the country you would like to visit.
6.Natural wonder—A natural location that holds cultural significance in the country you would like to visit.
7.Art event—A music, art, dance, etc. event that holds cultural significance in the country you would like to visit.
You must provide details about the cultural artifacts you will be experiencing. Include the reasons your artifacts are meaningful to the people and culture of the country for which you are planning a trip. Your paper should also include intercultural norms, values, codes of conduct, expectations, and communication rules (including verbal and nonverbal communication rules) that you would want to know about before attending these events/locations (this information should be presented early in your paper)
